Shan performed 'Rusalka's song to the Moon' (Dvorak), 'O Mio Babbino caro' (Puccini), 'O soave fanciulla' (Puccini) with tenor Andrew Sritheran and 'On my lips every kiss is like wine' ('Giuditta' by Lehar)
Shan reports - "What a fabulous event and a fantastic atmosphere. The RPO were on top form as usual and entertained the crowd with a fabulously entertaining programme under the very competent baton of guest conductor Andrew Nethsingha who conducted the arias extremely sensitively.There were thousands (approx. fifteen thousand were reported) of people having a whale of a time! Well done Newham council!"
PROMS IN THE PARK - Sept. 9th - Singleton Park Swansea with BBC NOW Orchestra - Aled Jones, Michael Ball, Shan Cothi, Paul Watkins (cellist) and Eric Stern - guest conductor - with the BBC chorus - with live link up to the Last Night of the Proms
Shan sparkled singing 'I feel pretty' (Bernstein), Suo Gan (Welsh trad - arr. by John Quirk) and got the crowd on their feet dancing to the sounds of the My Fair Lady favourite 'I could have danced all night' - a crowd of ten thousand was reported to have turned out on this spectacular Proms evening
